Break Free from Intrusive thoughts & Doubts
Is your brain stuck on a thought it just won't let go of? Maybe some of your thoughts don't even make sense, but they feel so real. The more you try to figure them out or push them away, the louder they get.
You find it hard to think of anything else, and no matter how many times you check, double check, or seek reassurance, the relief never lasts long. I'll help you stop fighting your brain and start getting your life back so OCD no longer tells you what to do.
overcome the Cycle of OCD with Inferenced-Based Cognitive Therapy (I-CBT).
OCD isn’t just about being neat and organized, or liking things a certain way. For many people, it’s a relentless cycle of doubt and anxiety. I-CBT targets your anxiety so you can feel more confident, certain, and calm (all without requiring exposure therapy).
OCD can often feel like being trapped in your own mind.
OCD can look very different from person to person. It’s not just needing things to be “perfect”.
Maybe you can't stop replaying a conversation, an email, or a decision, or searching for proof you didn't mess up or hurt someone.
Maybe you're haunted by thoughts that horrify you, and you wonder what it says about you that your brain even goes there.
Maybe you constantly ask for reassurance from your partner, friends, or Google, and feel a brief wave of calm before the doubt inevitably creeps back in.
Maybe you're exhausted from overcompensating. You seem fine on the outside, but inside you're running mental checklists, negotiating with your thoughts, and wondering if you're the only one who feels this way.
Thankfully you’re not alone! You're stuck in a common, yet treatable pattern.
what Does OCD look like?
OCD can show up in many different ways. Here are some of the concerns you might be experiencing:
If I don’t do it a specific way, something bad will happen
Checking things over and over (the stove, locks, texts, emails)
Unwanted thoughts about harming someone you love or a stranger
Being afraid of something to the point of developing a phobia
Doubting your relationship, your feelings, or your identity
Mentally reviewing or replaying to "make sure" it was okay
Feeling like something has to be done "just right" or it will feel wrong
Googling symptoms or asking others "is this normal?"
Fear of being a bad person, or of losing your faith or morals
Avoiding people, places, or things that set off your anxious thoughts
Spending hours on rituals or mental routines, then feeling ashamed
Intrusive thoughts about your baby, pregnancy, or new parenthood
How Therapy for OCD Helps:
Therapy helps you understand how OCD works, why the reassurance and compulsive behaviors keep you stuck, and how to step out of the cycle.
I use Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), one of the leading evidence-based approaches to treating OCD to target the story behind your obsession.
In OCD, a doubt starts to feel like a real-world possibility, even when the evidence says otherwise
Together we'll find exactly where that reasoning goes off track, so you can catch it in the moment and hand control back to your senses, your judgment, and the situation actually in front of you, instead of the "what if”
It can be an especially good fit if you'd rather understand the reasoning behind OCD than dive straight into exposures
I’ll help you Get back in the driver’s seat
It may feel far away right now, but it's possible to get through your day without an internal negotiation or tug of war. You can live with more certainty and confidence in yourself, without that constant nagging doubt, or spike of anxiety ruining your day.
Issues I work with:
I work with adults who are anxious, and also thoughtful, conscientious, and high-achieving. OCD tends to target the things you care about most, and for many of my clients that means it can hide behind perfectionism, responsibility, or being the one who always has it together.
Harm, Intrusive, or Taboo Thoughts: Unwanted violent or shocking thoughts that go against who you are. Having them doesn't mean you'll act on them, and I won't be shocked by anything you tell me.
Relationship, Identity, or Existential Doubt: Constantly questioning whether you're "really" in love, or doubting your purpose or your choices.
Checking, Contamination, and "Just Right" OCD: The rituals people most often associate with OCD, and the ones that quietly take over your day because you can’t trust that things are OK.
Perinatal and Postpartum OCD: Distressing intrusive thoughts during pregnancy or after having a baby. This anxiety is very common among new moms worried about hurting their child.
Relief from OCD is possible

OCD looks different for everyone, and many people go years without realizing that's what they have. If any obsessive thoughts and/or compulsive behaviors are taking up your time and energy, we can talk about whether OCD therapy is a good fit during your free consultation.

While ERP involves gradually facing fears, it's never forced or required. I focus on I-CBT, which targets the thinking behind the obsession. This means you don’t have to do any exposures if you don’t want to.
-
Absolutely! Your OCD symptoms are just one piece of the puzzle. If you have other concerns you’d like to address, we’ll collaboratively decide what to focus on. I do regular check-ins with clients to ensure you’re making progress and moving towards your goals.

The amount of time in therapy really depends on what you’re going through and is different for everyone. If you’re concerned about it being an endless process, I want you to know that I don’t keep people longer than they need it.
I’m very collaborative, so we’ll talk regularly about your progress and make mutual decisions about whether we can taper down to every other week and then to occasional check-ins.
